Dhanbad, May 22: The court of district and session judge Akhilesh Kumar today held three persons, including tenant couple-husband Rajkumar Singh, his wife Aparna Banerjee and Ravi Kumar Sab guilty in the brutal murder of landlady Sheela Sinha in posh Kusum Vihar Colony under Saraidhela police station in a two years old case.
However, the court exonerated the fourth accused of the case Akash Kumar Kesri from the charge giving him benefit of doubt.
Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Kuldeep Sharma said that the court has reserved the announcement about the quantum of punishment to the guilty accused and it would be announced on May 26.
Landlady Sheela Sinha was found stabbed to death in her room on the night of May 10, 2021. She was alone in her house and her son Sumit Sinha had gone to Patna. The tenant couple Rajkumar Singh and his wife Aparna Banerjee were in the house.
The police investigation found the involvement of the tenant couple in the murder and filed a charge sheet against four persons. The police had charged that Rajkumar Singh and his wife were caretakers of the house and were doing an immoral act in the house. The landlady protested it. So, they sidelined Sheela Sinha.
