Dhanbad, Oct 22: A youth identified as Dharmendra Yadav was shot at in the early morning of Saturday in Vikash Nagar under Bank More police station, He was referred to Mission Hospital Durgapur (West Bengal) in critical condition.
Dharmendra Yadav has sustained injuries from three bullets. He was immediately taken to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) from where the doctors referred him to a super specialty hospital due to his critical condition.
Bank More police station officer-in-charge PK Singh said that the shootout took place due to a family dispute. Both families belong to Ara of Bihar and have had a land dispute among them for a long time.
“Police are probing the incident to arrest the assaulters. All are absconding after the incident,” he said.
The injured youth informed police that at around 6 am today, he was going on a bike from his Vikash Nagar-based house when three persons named Arvind, Manish and Pravin stopped him near Mukti Dham of Matkuria and pumped three bullets after beating him. He alleged that one Sharda Devi of his village (Ara) was also present with the assaulters.
Dharmendra runs a milk business in Vikash Nagar.
