Patna, July 17: Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), took a dig at the NDA’s choice for president, Droupadi Murmu, on Saturday by claiming that the RJD doesn’t want a statue in the president’s residence.
Droupadi Murmu has not addressed a single press conference since being selected as the BJP-led NDA’s presidential candidate for Monday’s elections, according to Tejashwi Yadav.
“Rashtrapati Bhavan does not need any statues because we are choosing the president. You must have heard Yashwant Sinha all the time, but we have never heard the voice of the ruling party’s presidential candidate,” he said.
The unified opposition candidate for president, Yashwant Sinha, has received the RJD’s backing. He now has the backing of both the Left and the Congress in Bihar.
