While holding the demonstration, ECRKU branch-2 president PK Sahu and secretary AK Daa said that railway employees would not rest till the new pension scheme is withdrawn and agitation would be intensified for implementation of the old pension system.

Branch-2 joint secretary cum spokesperson of railway employees union Nilkamal Khawas said that a one-day nationwide ‘Resistance Day’ was organized on the call of All India Railwaymen Federation general secretary Shiv Kumar Mishra.

In the Dhanbad railway division, employees have 14 union branches. All branches observed ‘Resistance Day’ at all 147 junctions, stations and halts.

PK Sahu, the president of branch-2 said that railway employees are united over the demand and the union has only a single demand from the central government to cancel the new pension scheme and bring back the old pension system. He said that the union’s central committee president DK Pandey and general secretary SNP Srivastava led the agitation at zonal headquarters and handed over the memorandum.
