New Delhi, Nov 13: England defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets at the iconic Melbourne Cricket ground to lift the T20 World Cup on Sunday.
Twelve years after Paul Collingwood’s team defeated Australia to claim the first ICC title for the “Three Lions” in 2010, this is England’s second T20 World Cup victory. After Sam Curran’s masterful bowling had held Pakistan to a disappointing total of 137 runs, Ben Stokes slammed an unbeaten fifty to lead the team to victory.
England is now the first team in history to simultaneously hold the 50-over and T20 World Cup titles.
