FCI ex-staff body urges Railway Minister to increase daily trips of Sindri-Dhanbad train

Dhanbad, Oct 26: All India FCI VSS Employees Association today shot off a memorandum to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav urging him to increase the number of daily trips of the Sindri Town–Dhanbad Junction train for the convenience of  45,000 denizens.

Association’s president Sardar Sewa Singh, in the memorandum, has pointed out that organizations like Fertilizer Corporation of India (FCI), Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Limited (HURL), ACC cement, BIT Sindri are in Sindri Town but there is a single train as a means of transportation for Dhanbad to catch long route trains.

The train (53333) makes three trips daily from Sindri Town to Dhanbad and Dhanbad to Sindri Town. The train makes the first trip (starting from Sindri Town) at 8.40 am for Dhanbad and the last trip at 7.40 pm for Sindri from Dhanbad.

“Important trains like 12340 Dhanbad- Howrah Coalfield Express,13302 Dhanbad-Tata Nagar  Swarna Rekha Express, 13304  Dhanbad–Ranchi Inter City, and  03306  Dhanbad- Sasaram Inter  City start from Dhanbad  Junction at around 6 am. So denizens of Sindri and public sector employees have to take other means for catching these trains in the morning,” said Sardar Sewa Singh.

Similarly, these long-route daily trains return to Dhanbad at 10 pm but the last trip of train for Sindri from Dhanbad is at 7.40 pm. The passengers of Inter City express trains have to take other means to reach Sindri after 7.40 pm.

“So kindly increase one trip of Sindri Town- Dhanbad junction train at 4 am from Sindri so that denizens can catch morning trains at Dhanbad railway station,” said Sardar Sewa Singh.

A copy of the memorandum has also been sent to the General Manager of the East Central Railway (ECR)  and the Manager of the Dhanbad Rail Division.
