Jamshedpur, May 10: Two minor girls have been allegedly abducted from Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum allegedly by a Jamshedpur-based pastor.
The accused pastor K Chandra Mohan alias Raju had first allegedly converted the girls — both sisters — into Christianity almost a month ago before abducting them from their Railway Colony residence in Chakradharpur, leading the anxious mother to lodge an FIR with the Chakradharpur police station on Tuesday.
According to the FIR, the pastor who stays in suburban Tatanagar Loco Colony area of the steel city used to visit the victims’ house regularly for the past one year and would convince the minors by giving rosy picture about the life once converted into the Christianity.
The victims had eventually fallen into the trap of the pastor and took to the Christianity from Sharna religion.
According to the complainant mother, her daughters — one 17-year-old and another 15-year-old — had even stopped talking to her and her husband for the past couple of days.
“On Monday night both the daughters went over to rooftop of the railway residential flat and later sneaked away from the flat. I believe, the pastor is behind the disappearance of my daughters,” the worried mother has alleged.
The pastor could not be contacted for his comments.
Chakradharpur thana OC, Chandrashekhar Kumar confirmed about the FIR lodged by two missing minor girls from a tribal family.
“We have started investigating into the matter having registered a case. We are trying to trace out the girls by conducting raids in and outside the district. We are also trying to contact the accused pastor,” said the OC while talking to lagatar24.com.
A relative of the victims said the family members concerned would not know that the accused who had kept a South Indian name was a die-hard Christian and was visiting their house with an intention of converting the children into Christianity.
