Harbhajan Singh announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in December of last year, bringing an end to a 23-year career.
The off-spinner has a decorated career across all formats, having initially represented India in 1998. He has won the World Cup in both ODIs and T20Is, and is one of only four Indian bowlers to have taken more than 400 Test wickets. He was also the first Indian to score a hat-trick for India in a Test match.
Harbhajan made his international debut against Australia in Bengaluru in March 1998 when he was 17 years old.
He went on to take 417 wickets in 103 Test matches, making him India’s fourth highest wicket-taker in the format. Harbhajan Singh played 236 One-Day Internationals for India, taking 269 wickets. In addition, he took 25 wickets in 28 T20Is for India.
Harbhajan was a member of the India side that had a lot of success away from home under Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy. He is one of only a few Indian cricketers to have been in two ICC World Cup finals, losing in 2003 to Australia and winning in 2011 against Sri Lanka.
