Daltonganj, Oct 21: Combine security forces drawn from 172 Battalion CRPF, Jharkhand Jaguar and Garhwa police today observed police commemoration day atop Burha Pahar.
The security forces observed the day in all piety and simplicity at their Jhole Dera camp on the mountain.
Deputy Inspector General of STF Anoop Birtharay said, “This is the real Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on the Burha Pahar today. The brave security forces today observed police commemoration day on the Burha Pahar which for around two decades was a forbidden territory following its control and capture by the Maoists whom our gallant and chivalric teams have driven out finally and the Maoists are now desperately looking for their leg stretch space even.”
The national flag and CRPF flag were hoisted in honour of the police commemoration day.
The jawans and officials resolved their commitment ‘Sadaiv Rashtra Sewa’ on this day which is observed every October 21 in memoriam and honour of 10 soldiers of India who died like great heroes fighting the Chinese intrusion in 1959 and attained martyrdom.
As the Burha Pahar is an interstate Pahar between Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, this ceremony was held on the Burha Pahar falling in the Garhwa district.
Garhwa SP Anjani Kumar Jha on being contacted said, “We do hold police commemoration day usually at our headquarters.”
Sources said if police commemoration day is observed here today, the civil administration of Garhwa carried out its government-at-the-door programme close to the foothills of the Burha Pahar recently drawing a lot of appreciation for the proactive role.
