Ranchi, June 5: The Gossner College has invited applications for admissions in intermediate, undergraduate and various professional courses from July 7. The college will be offering forms offline due to technical issues this year.
Notably, the forms will be available from the counter of the college office at Rs 800. The last date for submission of forms is July 20.
In the case of intermediate, the total number of seats is 1536, wherein each stream including Science, Arts And Commerce have 512 seats each. Here, the cut-off marks in Arts for general and BC II is 65 percent, while the same for BC I is 63 percent and 60 percent for SC/ST.
On the other hand, cut-off marks for general and BC II is 70 percent in Science, while it is 68 percent for BC I and 65 percent for SC/ST candidates. Similarly, cut-off marks for general and BC II in Commerce are 60 percent, and the same is 58 percent for BC I and 55 percent for SC/ST categories.
Meanwhile, the Arts stream for undergraduate courses offers subjects including Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Urdu, History, Bengali, Political Science, Economics, Psychology, Geography, and Anthropology which have 100 seats each. In the case of Tribal and Regional Languages (TRL) only pass courses are available.
Notably, the enrolment in various courses/subjects at the undergraduate level will be based on the merit list issued by the department.
In the case of B.Com (Hons), classes are to be held in one session this year, which will have around 500 seats.
On the other hand, Science offers subjects such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, and Geology, each of which has 100 seats available.
The vocational department provides classes in Mass Communication and Video Production, BBA, BSc CA and IT, and Biotechnology, and has 50 seats in Mass Communication and Biotechnology, while there are over 125 seats in BBA and BSc, CA and IT.
As per sources, the number of seats in each course may be increased after permission from the university as per the requirement. Enrollment in all subjects will be based on the merit list issued by the department.
