This comes a day after HAL unveiled a scale model of the Hindustan Lead in Fighter trainer (HLFT-42), having a photo of Lord Hanuman with the caption- ‘The Strom is Coming’ displayed on the tail of the fighter jet.

The HLFT-42 aircraft is the successor of HAL Marut, the first Indigenous aircraft. Marut is another name for Wind or Pawan. The son of Pawan was Lord Hanuman, so the aircraft model had the picture of lord Hanuman.

The HLFT-42 is a next-generation supersonic trainer that plays an important role in modern combat aircraft training.

The aircraft fills the gap between existing trainers aircraft such as the Hawk-132 Subsonic trainer and Mig-21, which are used to train pilots in supersonic technology. It is equipped with state-of-the-art avionics like Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA), Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite, and Infrared Search and Track (IRST) with Fly by Wire control (FBW) systems.

Notably, Aero India 2023 is Asia’s biggest air show held at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru.
