Tel Aviv: On Tuesday, Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades launched two “M90” rockets targeting the Israeli city of Tel Aviv and its suburbs. According to the Israeli Air Force, one rocket landed in the maritime area off the coast, while the other did not enter Israeli territory. Despite the explosions heard in Tel Aviv, no casualties have been reported.
The Israeli Air Force confirmed that no immediate policy alerts were triggered by the rocket launches. Israeli media indicated that the explosions were audible in Tel Aviv but did not result in injuries.
Amidst the escalating violence, Hamas has reiterated its demand for Gaza truce talks to focus on an existing deal with Israel and mediators. Concurrently, Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of 19 Palestinians, as reported by medics.
The US has expressed hope that the peace talks scheduled for Thursday will proceed as planned and that a ceasefire agreement remains possible. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to travel to Qatar, Egypt, and Israel for discussions on the matter.
The Israeli government has confirmed it will participate in Thursday’s talks. However, Hamas has called for a viable plan to implement an already accepted proposal rather than further negotiations.
