Hazaribag, Nov.12: Korra police today arrested a 59-year-old engineer of the rural development special division Basudev Prasad, who was wanted regarding the misuse of government funds. Korra police station officer-in-charge Uttam Tiwary confirmed the arrest.
Tiwary said that the district welfare officer lodged a complaint against Prasad for the misuse of funds related to the construction of a hostel for tribal students near Nilambar Pitambar Chowk in town as well as in the construction of the official residence of the civil surgeon as well.
Notably, an FIR was lodged against him in Korra police station numbered 42/10 dated 19/01/2022 under section 409/420120 (B) of the IPC.
Sources said Prasad was wanted in five cases of fund misuse and was absconding. Prasad is a resident of Hulasgunj of district Jehanbad in Bihar. Tiwary said he was sent to judicial custody.
