Hazaribag, June 12: Huge footfall was seen today at the Hazaribag railway station where Vande Bharat express train halted for a few minutes. The train was on a trial run between two state capitals, Patna and Ranchi.
Former Hazaribag MP Yadunath Pandey who also reached here said it was a big moment for all as this will finally pave the way for the start of an express train service between Ranchi and Patna via Hazaribag. He said this was a big dream of local residents for decades.
Former BJP district president Bhaiya Banke Bihari said the union government has taken care of the demand of local people.
As the train arrived here after 10:30, people were seen rushing close to get a glimpse and to click a selfie. Sumedha Kumari, a student of Vinoba Bhave University said it’s a big moment for Hazaribag and so she came to the station to become a witness of it. “This selfie will make me cherish the moment always and also update it on my social media account,” she added.
Krishna Kumar Sinha, a senior BJP leader said once he had pasted posters in different areas of the district demanding rail connectivity for Hazaribag. “Now I have no words to express my feelings after seeing this express train here”, he added.
