Hazaribag: Two thieves sent to jail after villagers catch them red-handed

Hazaribag, Oct.21: Villagers of Belatand Karso in Barhi block arrested two thieves red-handed trying to commit theft in their area. They beat duo thieves black and blue before handing them to Barhi police.

According to sources, villagers saw a duo trying to break the lock of the house of one Sunita Devi on Thursday at midnight. Villagers caught them and thrashed them after which they admitted that they were trying to commit a theft in the locked house.

Barhi police station officer-in-charge Lalit Kumar said an FIR was lodged against them on the written complaint of Sunita Devi.

Today, the duo was forwarded to jail. Kumar said they were identified as 19-year-old Mohammad Waris and 24-year-old Ashfaq Khan aka Manjar Khan.

During interrogation, the duo admitted committing them in the house of one Ganesh Prasad Keshri on Hazaribag road. Police recovered all items stolen from Keshri’s house on Dec.16. Recovered items included five mobile phones beside gold and silver ornaments.
