Hazaribag, Nov.14:  Unidentified criminals pumped four bullets into the body of a youth in Barhi with police still struggling to ascertain the identity of the victim. Officials said the incident took place near Bariyath Mor and the youth was brought here from some other place and killed.

Incharge of Barhi police station Inspector Lalit Kumar said they got information about the incident from local villagers who spotted the dead body. A total of four bullets were pumped into his body including one below the right eye, two in the left chest and one in his left thigh. The youth’s age is between 25 to 30.

Kumar said they have found one live and two empty bullets from the spot. About the slain youth, he said no identity card was found.

Bullet at the place of occurance

It seems that he was brought here on late Sunday night and killed. Before escaping, criminals had dumped his dead body into bushes and escaped.

But we are trying to ascertain his identity first as well as trying to reach to killers also, added a police officer.

The police have sent the dead body for postmortem to Hazaribag medical college and hospital. They will wait for 72 hours for his relatives and if no one turns up, the body will be cremated.
