Ramgarh, April 9: Three members of an interstate vehicle robbery ring have been apprehended by Charhi police near 15 Mile on NH 33. Three looted vehicles were also recovered by the police with 1640 litres of Dhara refined oil loaded inside.
The three arrested accused belong from Punjab, Bengal and Jharkhand.
SDPO Vishnugarh Anuj Oraon said, “The kingpin of the gang Karamjit Singh Khandelwal alias Pappu Sardar, a resident of Howrah (West Bengal), Imran Khan, a resident of Sangrur (Punjab) and Pankaj Kumar Singh, a resident of Chas Ispat Colony, Bokaro are among the arrested.”
According to the SDPO, during a vehicle check near 15 Mile, a truck driver (Pankaj) saw the cops and began running away after parking the vehicle. When the driver was apprehended and questioned after fleeing, he revealed information about the theft.
He admitted that the vehicle he was driving was a stolen one. Imran Khan and Karamjit Singh Khandelwal alias Pappu Sardar are on their way after stealing edible oil from a parked truck and loading it into two more trucks.
The police then noticed both vehicles approaching and signalled them to stop based on the information they received from Pankaj. The suspects in the truck were captured as soon as the vehicle came to a halt. The recovered trucks yielded 1640 cartoon stream refined soybean oil when the police searched them.
The arrested are professional thieves and various criminal cases have been filed in police stations around the country against them. A significant revelation can be made following the interrogation of the apprehended suspect. In the strict interrogation of the police, the names of many other places and many people have been disclosed.
According to the information, the network of gangs robbing vehicles and goods is spread across the country. They steal the goods loaded in heavy vehicles running long distances, including the vehicle, and sell the goods at different places.
