Heat wave condition to continue on Thursday, says IMD

Jamshedpur, April 20: Several isolated parts of Jharkhand will continue to experience heat wave conditions on Thursday, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

After today’s chart analysis weathermen said that no significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand.

Dry weather prevailed while heat waves also occurred at isolated places over the state during the past 24 – hours.

The highest maximum temperature of 44.9°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 21.2°C was recorded at Simdega.

Capital Ranchi’s day reading touched 40 degrees Celsius. The local observatory in Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.

Jamshedpur recorded 43.6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Today too the day reading is expected to be around 43 degrees, as per the forecast.

Deoghar, Daltonganj and Chaibasa in West Singhbhum recorded around 44 degree Celsius while Garhwa, Ramgarh and Simdega recorded around 42 degrees Celsius.

Statistics revealed that most of the districts have notched 40 degrees Celsius with several places experiencing Loo, the hot and dry wind which blows in the plains during this time of the season.
