New Delhi, March 24: Ravindra Jadeja has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC’s Test cricket all-rounders rankings on Wednesday. After West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder dropped one rank, Jadeja climbed to the top of the all-rounders table, while colleague Ravichandran Ashwin stayed in third place.
Jadeja’s all-round performance was enough to reclaim the number one all-rounder position from Jason Holder, who had held it since February 2021. Jadeja’s lone other stint at the top was in August 2017, when he held the position for a week.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam’s historic century in the second Test against Australia propelled him to fifth place in the Test batting rankings, a three-place jump. As a result, Babar is now four places ahead of Indian competitor Virat Kohli and two places ahead of Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who is currently in seventh place.
Babar batted for over two days and scored 196 runs in 425 deliveries to help Pakistan to a stunning draw. Babar has moved up three spots in the rankings as a result of his performance, reaching No. 5.
