Berlin: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India has always stood for peace and may play a mediating role between Iran and the United States in the future when the right time comes. His remarks during a Germany visit have drawn global attention.

Statement Made During Germany Visit
Rajnath Singh, on a three-day visit to Germany, said India is not directly involved in mediation at present, but future possibilities cannot be ruled out. He stated that timing is crucial in diplomacy and India could step forward when conditions are suitable.

India’s Peace Approach Highlighted
The minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already appealed to both sides to end the conflict. He added that India believes in dialogue and peaceful resolution of disputes.

Growing Global Importance of India
Rajnath Singh said India’s voice now carries weight on international platforms, unlike in earlier years. According to him, the world listens seriously when India speaks on major global issues.

Hormuz Crisis Affects India Directly
He also pointed to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, saying they directly impact India because a major share of the country’s energy needs comes from West Asia. Any instability in the region, he said, is important for India’s economy and security.

Bilateral Talks in Germany
During the visit, Rajnath Singh is expected to hold discussions with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius and other senior leaders on bilateral cooperation and strategic matters.
