Deoghar, April 21: People say that pairs are made in heaven and celebrated on earth. This saying came true when a unique but unusual couple tied the knot in Deoghar last evening.
Although Lord Shiva has been blessing a large number of weddings at the pious patio of Baba Baidyanath Dham Temple but yesterday, it was the time for a unique marriage.
An Indian girl named Jena Vats, daughter of Dr H K Jha got married to a London based doctor named Sham as per Hindu rituals.
Jena Vats was born in Kahalgaon in the neighbouring state Bihar but later her family settled in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. After completing her B.Tech, she got a job in a London-based telecom company seven years ago.
There, she came in contact with Sham who is a physiotherapist. They fell in love with each other and decided to lead the rest of their lives together.
Jena’s father did not hesitate to talk with the media. His first reaction to the marriage was, “Beti ki khushi me hi meri khushi hai. Baba mere bachche par apni kripa banaye rakhein. (My happiness lies in my daughter’s happiness. May Lord Shiva bless my kid always) I am happy with my daughter’s decision to get married to Sham.”
He further said that his son-in-law never force Jena to convert her religion. Rather, he happily accepted the Hindu marriage rituals and came to India only to marry her.
Revealing the reason behind organising the wedding ceremony at Baba Baidyanath Temple, the bride’s father said that it was Jena’s decision to get married there and not anywhere else. He also said that due to the Covid lockdown, the wedding got postponed for two years.
The family priest Uttam Nath Narone, who arranged the function at the temple, said that he has never seen such a unique wedding before. He confirmed that the Hindu rituals were followed at the wedding.
The newly married couple were very happy after the ceremony. Jena said that Hindu rituals have been accepted by Sham which shows his commitment to her.
The wedding was attended by relatives from both sides. Sham’s parents, brother and his wife, their common friends and Jena’s parents, uncle-aunt and other relatives were present during the ceremony.
