Koderma, Jan 20: The nation is all set to celebrate Republic Day on January 26. This time the Republic Day celebrations will begin from January 23 itself.

On the other hand, the Indian Railways have received intelligence information about a supposed terrorist plot. Keeping this in mind, security at all railway stations has been tightened.

According to sources, a high alert has also been issued at all railway stations of Dhanbad Railway Division. Intelligence revealed that terrorists may carry out a plot to disturb Republic Day celebrations in the country.

As a precautionary measure, the Dhanbad Railway Division has increased security in trains from Dhanbad Junction to Manpur station and at CIC section stations.

Dhanbad Railway Division’s RPF Commandant Hemant Kumar said that policemen in civil dresses will be on duty at all platforms and trains, along with dog squads. He has appealed to all railway passengers not to touch any suspicious objects and report them immediately to the RPF, GRP or railway employees.

On the other hand, it has also been decided that all railway parcels will be put on hold between January 23-26. There is a possibility of that terrorists may send explosives through parcels during the increased VIP movements.

Kumar added that parcel traffic has been banned in all railway stations for four days. Even parcels on trains passing through Delhi will not be able to be loaded or unloaded at nearby railway stations.

Kumar further said that passengers can take luggage with them in trains. There is no restriction over this. However, passengers carrying luggage will also be allowed outside the station premises only after thorough screening. More than half of the Mail Express trains including VIP train Rajdhani Express, go to Delhi via Koderma.
