Ranchi, April 16: Internet services, which were suspended in Lohardaga following an incident of stone pelting and arson in Hirhi village under Sadar police station area of the district on April 10, have been restored.

Lohardaga Deputy Commissioner (DC) Waghmare Prasad Krishna confirmed the development saying the order for restoration was given after it was observed that normalcy had returned.

Meanwhile, a news agency has quoted SDO Arbind Kumar Lal saying that the reason behind the disturbance in the area was presence of terrorists’ sleeper cells. BJP state president Deepak Prakash on the basis of the statement demanded a probe by a central investigating agency into the matter.

Lal, however, said his statement was ‘misinterpreted’ and refused to comment further. Contacted DC Krishna for his comment on the matter he said it will be too early to give any conclusive statement in the matter.

“A special investigation team is probing the matter. Before the probe gets completed, it will be too early to give any comment on the matter,” DC Krishna said.
