Jamshedpur, July 6: GAIL (India) Limited has started a project to supply Piped Natural Gas (PNG) at Tata Steel residential complex in Kadma.
PNG is one of the more efficient and green fossil fuels and reduces the dependency on other fossil fuels.
The event marked another significant milestone in the spread of the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga Project at Jamshedpur.
Till FY 2022-23, GAIL is committed to energising the 1000 kitchens and developing infrastructure for PNG to 5,000 households in Tata Steel Residential Colony areas. Presently, 1,000 domestic consumers in the Sonari area are getting eco-friendly, economical and clean fuel through a De-compression unit (DCU) set up near Tribal Culture Centre in Sonari.
The project would ensure a continued supply of cooking gas (no pilferage) while payment by respective customers will be on an actual consumption basis. Besides, it is safe, convenient, eco-friendly and economical for the users.
In FY-2023, there is a plan to cover ECC Flats, Prakriti Vihar, Professional flat-A & B, KF-2 flat and Kaiser Bungalow.
