Jamshedpur, May 21: A team of police officers on Saturday fixed a notice at the house of Mohammed Shahnawaz alias Monu in connection with the Nisha Koda abduction case registered with the Sonari thana in July 2019.
A resident of Sonari, Nisha is the niece of former chief minister Madhu Koda. Sub-inspector SK Chaudhury who led a team of police officials talked to Shahnawaz’s elderly mother to find out his whereabouts.
“Whereas four other accused have already been arrested in the Nisha Koda abduction case, Shahnawaz is still absconding. We have fixed a court notice on the wall of the accused’s house, which is a step for obtaining an ‘attachment warrant’ against an accused,” said Chaudhury.
The police officer said they have asked the family members of the accused to make Shahnawaz surrender
in the court or the police station if they consider escaping strong legal steps against the offender.
A resident of Azadnagar in Mango, Shahnawaz along with four others had abducted Nisha near Domuhani under the Sonari thana area on the night of July 25, 2019.
A BJP minority cell functionary, Tajdar Alam had led Nisha Koda to a place near Sonari’s Domuhani for showing him land for house building. But instead of showing her a plot of land, Alam along with four others had robbed the young woman. The criminals had robbed the victim’s gold ornaments worth Rs 6 lakhs, Rs 1 lakh cash and her SUV.
Shahnawaz had committed the robbery along with his associates at the instance of Alam. The criminals had abducted Nisha to a secluded place along the Dobo-Kanderbera road in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district before robbing her.
Nisha had lodged an FIR against Alam and four unidentified persons alleging abduction and robbery with the Sonari thana the same night.
In this connection, the police have already arrested four persons including Alam, but Shahnawaz is still absconding.
