Jamshedpur, June 21: Various city-based private and government schools today celebrated the 8th International Yoga Day by organising yoga sessions on their campuses.
JUSCO School Kadma celebrated the day with the theme “Yoga for Humanity”, keeping in mind the physical, emotional and mental stress that people went through because of the pandemic.
The programme started under the guidance of Jhumjhumi Nandi who expressed the importance of Yoga in day-to-day life.
The students from STD I to VIII participated with great enthusiasm under the supervision of Kiran Singh.
The session was also attended by a large number of teachers of both junior and senior sections.
Rajendra Vidyalaya, a leading ICSE School organised a similar session which was attended by the students. The principal of the school Rakhi Banerjee emphasised on the importance of yoga and its benefits. She said they celebrated the yoga day for bringing about awareness in society.
The Blue Bells School in Mango too celebrated the International Yoga Day by conducting a yoga session for students which lasted for about three hours.
Meanwhile, people from various walks of life-doctors, engineers, politicians, advocates, businessmen and other professionals took part in yoga sessions to mark the day.
