Jamshedpur’s Dr DK Mishra, Ranchi’s Dr Prem Kumar elected as Jharkhand president and secretary of Urological Society of India

Dhanbad, July 18: Dr DK Mishra of Jamshedpur and Dr Prem Kumar of Ranchi were unanimously elected president and secretary respectively of the Urological Society of India (USI) Jharkhand chapter for a new committee of 2022-24 at the state annual general body meeting held at Dhanbad on Sunday evening.

Besides president and secretary, Dr Gaurav Prakash of Dhanbad was also unanimously elected as the new treasurer of the society in the new committee.

Dr D K Mishra of Jamshedpur is one of the most renowned urologists in Jharkhand as well as in the country while Dr Prem Kumar (Guru Nanak Hospital and Research Centre Ranchi) is also an eminent urologist in the state. Both of them have replaced outgoing president Dr Arvind Agrawal, and Dr M K Senapati of Ranchi respectively.

Dr Gaurav Prakash of Dhanbad was selected in the place of Dr Anup Sahu of Ranchi as the treasurer of the Jharkhand chapter of the USI.

Dr Rohit Kumar, chairman of the JUSCON 2022 organizing committee said that at the meeting, members of the USI Jharkhand chapter unanimously decided to form a new committee for the 2022-24 session. Since Dr Mishra and Dr Kumar are renowned urologists in the country, the members endorsed their names for top posts in voice votes.

Organizing secretary of JUSCON 2022 Dr Pradeep Kumar Sinha said that it was the 3rd USI conference in the state and the first time in the Dhanbad district. Despite that the city lacks a direct air service facility, renowned doctors of Delhi, Bhubaneswar, and Kolkata participated in large number and shared their experience on the latest treatment in the urology field with doctors of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, Bokaro and other districts in the two-day conference which concluded on Sunday evening.

The event manager of the conference Vishnu Kumar said besides panel discussion, over dozen papers were also presented by experts.
