Ranchi, July 31: The three Jharkhand Congress MLAs Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachhap and Naman bixal Kongari, who was caught by Kolkata police with cash worth lakhs of rupees in rural Howrah, West Bengal, have been suspended from the party on Sunday.
Jharkhand Congress party leader Alamgir Alam has confirmed this. He has said that in view of the allegations leveled against the three Congress MLAs, the top leadership of the party has taken this decision.
Notably, late Saturday evening, the police stopped the car that the three MLAs were travelling in near Ranihati Mor of Panchla police station area as a regular checking stop. However, large amounts of cash were found in the back of the car while being searched. The ministers had claimed that they were going towards East Midnapore.
On receiving information about the incident, Superintendent of Police Swati Bhangalia reached the spot. She informed the media that on the basis of secret information, a special checking operation was conducted at Ranihati Mor. Meanwhile, a vehicle with Jharkhand numbers coming from the Jamtara area was stopped. Three MLAs Irfan Ansari, Naman Viksal Kongadi and Rajesh Kachhap were also there.
