Jharkhand Congress develops cold feet, drops 3 Brahmin dist unit heads

Ranchi, Dec.6: The All India Congress Committee has dropped three Brahmins and one OBC from the list of district presidents of different districts of Jharkhand released on December 4.

The step was taken to accommodate three Muslims and one Dalit.

The three Brahmins included Shantanu Mishra (Ramgarh), Srikant Tiwari (Garhwa), Anil Kumar Ojha ( Sahibganj) and one OBC Narayan Barnwal (Koderma). Mishra has been replaced by Munna Paswan, Tiwari has been replaced by Obedulla Haq Ansari, Ojha has been replaced by Barkatulla Khan and Bernwal has been replaced by Bhairath Paswan.

AICC general secretary K.C.Venugopal released the list.  He directed to induct those as office bearers whose name has been dropped from the list of district presidents.

Before the list was released, Muslim and Dalit leaders staged demonstration and burnt effigies of party state president Rajesh Thakur and party’s Jharkhand in-charge Abinash Pande for not giving space to Dalits and Muslims in the list of district presidents.
