Dhanbad, July 12: Rattled by the incident in Jamtara district, the state education department has directed the District Superintendent of Education (DSE) to conduct physical verification of the Urdu School in Dhanbad and submit its report in a week.

The state director of primary education has ordered the DSE to conduct the physical verification of all Dhanbad-based Urdu Schools, their name before and after the acquisition of the institution, salary payment structure of teachers,  number of students and others.

The director has also instructed to report on which day the weekly leave is being given to the students and teachers in all 67 Urdu Schools of the district. “If besides these 67 Urdu schools, other private (Urdu) schools run in the district then also inform their details in one week,” said the director in his notice to the DSE.

Official sources said that the education department, especially, Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto has taken serious note of the forceful imposition of weekly leave on Friday in place of Sunday in the government-run Urdu schools in Jamtara district by the locals.

Dhanbad DSE Indrabhushan Singh admitted to having received the directive of the Primary Education department director and said that he has asked all the blocks education officers to conduct physical verification of all Urdu schools and submit the report in three days.

The DSE said that he would submit the report to state headquarters on the scheduled (within a week) time after conducting the verification. However, he told the media that there is no report of any Urdu School changing the day of its weekly leave in the district.

As per the official record, 67 Urdu Schools run in the Dhanbad district in which the highest number (14) is in Nirsa block, followed by 11 in Jharia circle, eight each in Dhanbad Sadar block, Baghmara block, Topchanchi block, three in Tundi block and two in Baliapur.
