Ranchi, May 26: The students of the government schools in the state have been enjoying summer vacation from May 17 this year. However, now students from classes III to VII may have to prepare for their end semester examinations after their schools reopen.
Notably, the Department of School Education and Literacy is preparing to take the examination for classes III to VII on the lines of JAC’s matriculation and intermediate exams in government schools of the state.
Under this, the examination will be conducted in two shifts. There will be objective questions in the first shift while subjective questions will be a part of the second shift. There will be objective questions of 40 marks and subjective questions of 40 marks in the exam. Along with this, 20 marks will be earmarked for internal assessment.
At the same time, along the lines of matriculation and intermediate examinations in schools, the evaluation of students in third to seventh grades will also be done. Children will be given one and a half hours to answer these questions.
However, the date of the exam has not been decided yet, but, according to the information received from the Department of School Education and Literacy, after the reopening of the schools, the examinations of the children will be taken between June 7 and June 15.
Officials at the education department have also stated that the result of the class III to class VII examination is likely to come by the last week of June. After this, the new academic session will start in July.
Meanwhile, the term two examinations of the board of classes 8th, 9th and class 11th will be conducted from June 16 to June 30. There will also be an oral examination for the children of classes I and II.
Along with this, children have been given the freedom to choose the regional language to take the exam in. Notably, for the last two years, children from class III to class VII were being promoted based on internal assessments due to the pandemic.
