Ranchi, June 9: The Income Tax department on Thursday morning started a search at the office and residential premises of businessman Puneet Poddar and the chartered accountant Naresh Kejriwal. The operation was conducted on the suspicion of tax evasion.
The search and assessment operation is underway at as many as a dozen of locations namely on Kanke Road, Upper Bazaar, and Church Complex. The team from Jamshedpur and other units of IT have been drawn for the operation. The search team is said to have taken possession of various documents including that of business firm Babulal Premkumar owned by Punit Poddar.
Babulal Premkumar is the oldest business firm of the Poddar family which deals in clothes. So far there is no report of the recovery of any cash
