Ranchi: The monsoon has become fully active across Jharkhand, with the weather department issuing a fresh forecast for all districts warning of thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds and rainfall between July 9 and 14, advising residents to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions.
Heavy Rainfall Recorded Across Several Districts
Over the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in multiple parts of the state, with Godda registering the highest rainfall at 44.2 mm, followed by Pathargama at 34.2 mm, Meharma at 24.4 mm and Lohardaga at 13.5 mm. During this period, the state’s highest maximum temperature was recorded in Pakur at 34.5 degrees Celsius, while Latehar recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 21.7 degrees Celsius.
Strong Wind and Lightning Warning Issued for Multiple Districts
The weather department has issued warnings for strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour, along with lightning and thunderstorms, for Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Koderma, Dhanbad, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Latehar, Deoghar, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur and Sahibganj. The department further noted that light to moderate rainfall is expected across most parts of the state on July 13 and 14, with heavy rainfall likely at some locations in Deoghar, Dumka, Giridih, Jamtara, Dhanbad, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan on July 13.
No Major Temperature Change Expected, Safety Advisory Issued
Officials said no significant change in the state’s maximum temperature is expected over the next five days. In the capital Ranchi, the maximum temperature between July 9 and 12 is likely to range between 28 and 29 degrees Celsius, with the minimum temperature around 24 degrees Celsius. The weather department has advised people to stay away from open areas, trees and electric poles during bad weather and to take shelter in a safe place during lightning.
