Ranchi, July 30: Stone mining businessman Prakash Chandra Yadav was returning to Patna after meeting an MLA from Santhal Pargana when Sahibganj police arrested him from the Birsa Munda airport on Friday in an Arms Act case.
Well placed sources said that Prakash Chandra Yadav had once contacted the said politician of the ruling alliance and requested him to use his influence in the government so that he smoothly starts his stone mining and inland transport business in Santhal Pargana once again. The businessman assured the said politician that he would extend favour to the politician to the best of his capacity.
For the last two and half years Prakash Chandra Yadav has shifted to Kolkata and he nearly stopped his mining business following a dispute with Pankaj Mishra. He alleged Pankaj Mishra using his influence in the government and being close to CM Hemant Soren ruined his business and got him implicated in several false cases. Both are sworn enemies to each other.
The said politician who is also an MLA had assured Prakash Chandra Yadav that he would get the things right in his favour. Sources said that the said MLA was calling Prakash Chandra Yadav for the past 10 days asking him to come to Ranchi so that he arranges his meeting with the right person in the power corridor. He came to the residence of that MLA. While he was returning to the airport he was arrested by the police.
Notably, his name surfaced when the Enforcement Directorate started investigation of the illegal stone mining scam in Santhal Pargana. In this case, the ED arrested Pankaj Mishra. The ED also summoned Prakash Chandra Yadav for the verification of certain facts and documents. These facts and documents are related to a couple of FIR he had lodged against Pankaj Mishra, Sahibganj DMO Bibhuti Kumar, Dahu Yadav and some senior railway officials on the charge of illegally lifting his stone boulders and transporting them through railway without challan. Besides, there is a court case related to Prakash Chandra Yadav being denied permission to operate cargo ships in the river Ganga.
However, his son Ankush Chandra Yadav appeared before the ED and recorded his statement.
Now the ED has issued a fresh summon to Dahu Yadav and Bacchu Yadav who are not appearing before the ED. It has been learnt that the ED has issued summons to Sunil Yadav who is brother of Dahu Yadav and Sanjay Diwan who is a local businessman.
