Chatra, Aug 17: A team led by Tandwa police station officer-in-charge Vijay Kumar Singh investigated a case taking the help of a technical cell to arrest an extremist of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP). The extremist was involved in passing threats for a levy to an outsourcing company of NTPC. The arrested extremist was identified as Falendra Ganjhu a.k.a Thepa Ganjhu.
Singh today confirmed the arrest of Ganjhu informing that he was behind passing threats to one Simplex company working for NTPC. A call was made to the company official in the name of JJMP subzonal commander Bhim. The company had informed to police about this call which made Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan form a team and carry out a raid in this regard.
Sources said the team took the help of the technical cell reaching to Ganjhu in Latehar on Wednesday. About Ganjhu, Singh said he is a resident of Falia village under the Balumath police station of the neighbouring Latehar district. Police have also recovered two mobile phones from Ganjhu which were used to pass threats to the company.
Ganjhu admitted making calls to the company besides sending a handwritten pamphlet too, demanding a levy. He was sent to jail today. Police have also identified his associates who were involved in this case. Raids are on to nab them also.
