Ranchi, Sept 30: The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has begun the process of Jharkhand Industrial Training Officer Competitive Examination. The commission has invited applications for a total of 737 posts under the Jharkhand Industrial Service Cadre.
This includes 26 backlog posts and 711 regular vacancies. JSSC is to begin registration for the competitive exam from October 18. The last date for submission of applications is fixed till midnight of November 17. The examination fee can be paid till the midnight of November 19. The link will be open till the midnight of November 21 to take the print out of the application by uploading the photograph and signature.
The link to rectify incorrect entries made in the online application form from November 22 to midnight of November 24. Qualified candidates will apply together for both the backlog and regular vacancy advertisements. In case of applying for both the advertisements, the same examination fee will be payable.
The JSSC has fixed a fee of Rs 100 for the exam. For ST, SC candidates of Jharkhand state, the examination fee will be Rs 50. Exemption in examination fee is admissible to the handicapped candidates of Jharkhand having 40 percent or more disability.
According to the advertisement, in addition to the essential educational qualification, it will be mandatory for the candidates to have passed Matriculation from a recognised educational institution of Jharkhand. It will also be mandatory for the candidate to have knowledge of local customs, language and environment. However, in the case of candidates who are covered under the reservation policy of Jharkhand, the provision regarding passing of Matriculation from a recognized educational institution located in Jharkhand will be relaxed.
The examination will be taken in a Computer Based Test (CBT Mode). It will entail three papers under the written test. All the questions in the written examination will be objective type and multiple choice answer based.
The medium of examination will be in Hindi/ English. The duration of the examination for each paper will be of two hours. Each question in all the three papers will be of three marks. Three marks will be awarded for the correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Paper-I will be for language and general knowledge and Paper-II will be marked on the basis of knowledge of regional/ tribal language. Minimum marks for qualification will be 30 percent. The candidates who score less than the minimum qualifying marks will be considered ineligible for selection for appointment.
Paper-III will be the subject of technical knowledge. Business wise merit list will be prepared by the commission on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-III (Technical Knowledge).
