Justice Binod Roy remembered on death anniversary

Ranchi, June 20: The third death anniversary of Justice Binod Kumar Roy was observed today at the residence of the Jharkhand Chief Justice in Kanke.

Born on December 26, 1944, Roy graduated from Patna University and passed LL.B from Magadh University. He started his career in Patna High Court as an advocate in 1968. He was elevated as judge of Patna High Court on October 31, 1988. In April 1994, he was transferred to Allahabad High Court.

 

Roy became chief justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court on October 14, 2002 and was subsequently moved to Guwahati High Court and then to Sikkim High Court. He retired on December 27, 2006 and passed away on June 20, 2019.

 

Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Dr Ravi Ranjan and Dr Sunita Roy remembered Roy and paid homage to departed souls.
