The victim was observed leaving a hotel after a New Year’s party at around 1.45 am in CCTV footage that the police have located. The victim was first sitting in the rear seat of the scooter as the friend operated it, according to the video.

According to authorities, a later video showed them switching positions just before the vehicle was struck by a car, with the victim occupying the driver’s seat. The victim became entangled beneath the car and was dragged along, according to the police, while the friend managed to flee the scene with only minor injuries.
