Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav made a bold assertion on Friday, claiming that the Narendra Modi-led government at the center could collapse by August. He urged his party workers to be ready for potential snap elections.

“I appeal to all party workers to be ready, as elections can happen anytime. Modi’s government in Delhi is very weak and it can fall by August,” Yadav stated, according to ANI reports.

Yadav’s remarks follow recent statements from the Congress party, which suggested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s authority has been significantly weakened and that his government is on the brink of collapse. Congress leaders have indicated that they believe the BJP-led government could fall at any moment.

Earlier this week, during his response to the debate on the Motion of Thanks, Prime Minister Modi dismissed these claims, asserting that the recent general election results demonstrated public rejection of propaganda in favor of performance. He noted that the people had decisively voted for his government’s track record.

In an interview with PTI following the parliamentary session, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticized Modi, claiming the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha revealed a rejuvenated and aggressive opposition within the INDIA group. However, Ramesh argued that there has been no change in Modi’s approach or behavior.

Post-election, leaders of the INDIA bloc have vowed to take necessary actions at the right time to fulfill the public’s desire for a government change. Opposition leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, have committed to continuing their fight against what they describe as the “fascist rule” of the BJP under Modi’s leadership.

In the most recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured 292 seats, while the Opposition alliance, INDIA, garnered 232 seats.
