New Delhi, March 25: Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar, showed up today in Delhi to speak with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) about the suspected land-for-jobs scam, after missing three prior appointments.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader was brought to the investigation team after completing the required formalities upon his arrival at the CBI headquarters at approximately 10:30 am.

Last Monday, the CBI assured the Delhi High Court that Yadav would not be detained this month.

Maninder Singh, the RJD leader’s attorney, claims that Yadav informed the federal agency that he would need some time to appear before its investigators because the current Bihar Assembly session is set to end on April 5.

Moreover, Singh had informed the court that on March 25, at 10:30 am, Yadav will appear before the investigating officer at the CBI headquarters in Delhi.

The Assembly does not meet on Saturdays, according to CBI attorney DP Singh, who had previously informed the court that Yadav may come before the agency on any Saturday in March that was convenient for him. The summonses issued against the RJD leader on February 28, March 4, and March 11 were challenged by the RJD leader.
