Daltonganj, Mar 5: Latehar district’s Tana Bhagat Development Authority will bear the academic expenses for the 22 Tana Bhagat students pursuing their one-year certificate course of ‘police science’ in the Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University Ranchi, according to DC Latehar Abu Imran today.

The DC said, “22 of our Tana Bhagat students are enrolled and doing their one-year certificate course in police science in the Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University Ranchi. The registrar of this university has sent us a requisition to provide the university with these students’ academic expenses.”

“The requisition is of Rs.31,000 per student for the one-year certificate course which comes to Rs. 6,82,000 for the 22 students,” he added.

The DC further said he has ordered the Nazareth Deputy Collector Shivendra Singh to co-ordinate with the Tana Bhagat Development Authority and arrange to send the money to the university either through national electronic fund transfer or through RTGS immediately.

Nazareth Deputy Collector Shivendra Singh said that the work in this regard has started on the order of the DC Latehar in regard.

Shivendra Singh said these 22 wards of Tana Bhagat are in the academic session 2021-22. Out of the total students, 5 are girls belonging to Tana Bhagat.

Imran said that there can be no better thing to cite in respect of women empowerment than this when girls of Tana Bhagat are taking a certificate course in police science.

One of the students Surender Bhagat said today that their examination of the course is due either this September or October. He said this one-year course has benefitted him and others as they have got good exposure.

Surender Bhagat hails from Sasang panchayat under Chandwa block in Latehar district.

However, one parent Puran Bhagat of Tana Bhagat student Archana Kumari said that his daughter was selected for admission to the Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University Ranchi for the session 2021 -22, but for some unavoidable reasons she could not pursue this course.

Puran Bhagat said that he did not know how his daughter’s name has figured in the list of 22 students for whom the Raksha Shakti University Ranchi has sought fees reimbursement from the Latehar Tana Bhagat development authority.
