Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, contesting from Bhabanipur during the second phase of Assembly polling, claimed that the Trinamool Congress is heading for victory. She also accused CRPF personnel and central agencies of intimidating voters.

Allegations Against Central Forces
Mamata Banerjee said such a large deployment of central forces had never been seen before in any state election. She alleged that security personnel were assaulting people and targeting women and children as well.

Claims of Detentions and Pressure
She further claimed that several TMC workers had been detained since the previous night and described the situation as an attack on democratic rights. According to her, voters were being prevented from participating freely in the polling process.

Observers Accused of Bias
The Chief Minister also accused outside observers of acting in favour of the BJP. She alleged that party flags, banners and hoardings were being removed while polling agents and workers were being threatened.

TMC’s Strong Social Media Response
The Trinamool Congress echoed the allegations on social media, comparing the BJP to the Kauravas from the Mahabharata and claiming the party would face political defeat in Bengal. It also accused central forces of targeting women voters.

Opposition Yet to Respond
No formal response from the BJP or central authorities was included in the statements. Polling continued amid tight security arrangements across constituencies.
