New Delhi: Amid the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict, US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a phone conversation to discuss the escalating situation in West Asia, with a key focus on keeping the Strait of Hormuz open for global energy supply.

Leaders Discuss Strategic Maritime Route

Both leaders deliberated on the importance of maintaining the Strait of Hormuz as open, secure, and accessible. The development was confirmed by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, highlighting the global significance of the critical oil transit route.

India Stresses De-escalation And Peace

Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s stance on resolving conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. He emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation and restoration of peace, warning that prolonged war could have severe global consequences.

Energy Crisis Deepens Due To Disruptions

The closure or disruption of the Strait of Hormuz has already impacted global oil supply, with several ships stranded at sea. This has intensified concerns over an energy crisis affecting multiple countries, including India.

PM Addresses Parliament On Conflict Impact

In his statement in Parliament, PM Modi highlighted that the war, ongoing for over three weeks, has triggered a serious global energy crisis. He also reiterated India’s consistent opposition to attacks on civilians, as well as on civil, energy, and transportation infrastructure.

Global Implications Under Close Watch

With rising tensions in West Asia, world leaders are closely monitoring developments, particularly those affecting key energy routes. Ensuring stability in the region remains crucial for global economic and strategic balance.
