Ranchi: The monsoon is preparing to exit Jharkhand soon as its intensity weakens across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in isolated places till September 12.

Rainfall Deficit Despite Seasonal Surplus

Light to moderate rainfall is expected in some areas, though Jharkhand received 76% less rain than normal in the last 24 hours. Interestingly, the overall monsoon season has still recorded 21% surplus rainfall compared to the average.

Temperature Trends and Wind Speed

No major change in maximum temperature is expected over the next three days. However, after that, a drop of about 2°C is likely. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 30–40 km per hour, according to IMD.

Regional Rainfall Distribution

Among the districts, East Singhbhum recorded the highest rainfall this season, while Pakur saw the least. Five districts—Deoghar (13% less), Garhwa (3% less), Godda (11% less), Hazaribagh (2% less), and Pakur (22% less)—have received below-normal rainfall so far.
