Mumbai, June 23: An MLA from the Eknath Shinde camp has sent a letter accusing the Maharashtra Chief Minister of closing his doors for them and keeping them waiting for hours a day after Uddhav Thackeray’s moving plea to Shiv Sena rebels.
In the letter that Eknath Shinde posted on Twitter, the MLAs accused Uddhav Thackeray of being inaccessible.
“We were denied entry to the Chief Minister’s house for 2.5 years,” wrote Sanjay Shirsat, one of the MLAs in Guwahati with the rebels.

Shirsat claimed he was forced to stay outside the Chief Minister’s official residence Varsha for hours on end. The Chief Minister left Varsha last night following a speech in which he declared himself ‘ready to depart anytime’ but refrained from actually leaving.
Shirsat referred to Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, whose rise to prominence sparked animosity among many who have now shifted to the rebel camp, saying that ‘Chanakya would always trump us.’
The MLA further said that, with their bags already checked in at the Mumbai airport and their boarding set to begin, they and other passengers were abruptly prevented from travelling to Ayodhya.
“When Aaditya Thackeray went to Ayodhya then why were we stopped? You told many MLAs urging them not to go to Ayodhya. We were at Mumbai airport, our bags were checked in and we were about to board when Mr Shinde called us and said MLAs should return. He told us the Chief Minister had said MLAs should not go to Ayodhya. Why weren’t we allowed a darshan of Ram Lalla,” wrote Shirsat in the letter.
Additionally, he stated that while Sena MLAs like himself were barred from the Chief Minister’s residence, friends from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress frequently paid Thackeray a visit.
