New Delhi, Dec.14: The opposition today held a march from Gandhi statue in Parliament premises to Vijay Chowk on Rajpath, in a protest against the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs.

The march started at around 12:45 pm in support of their demands. The opposition leaders marched with placards with slogans like ‘Save Democracy’, ‘Save Constitution’ and ‘Say No to Dictatorship’ on them.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also joined this protest march.

“This (suspension of 12 MPs) is a symbol of the crushing of the voice of people of India. Their voices have been crushed. They have done nothing wrong. We are not allowed to discuss important issues in Parliaments,” said Rahul Gandhi.

“Bills after Bills are being passed in Parliament in the din. This is not the way to run the Parliament. The prime minister doesn’t come to the house. We are not allowed to raise any issue of national importance. It is the unfortunate killing of democracy,” he added.
