Lahore, May 19: In order to thoroughly examine the former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan’s Zaman Park house here and locate any alleged “terrorists” hiding inside, Punjab Police secured warrants on Friday, according to media sources.
According to Geo TV, the action was taken after the Punjab government chose to send a team to speak with Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership.
The contingent, which will also include a female police officer, will be led by a police officer with the rank of superintendent, according to the report.
The team will also be joined by the Lahore Division Commissioner. The statement states that the search would include a thorough investigation of the home’s entry and exit points with the main goal of locating “terrorists” who may be hiding inside, according to the Dawn newspaper.
The Punjab government alleged on Wednesday that “30 to 40 terrorists were hiding inside Khan’s residence,” and it offered his party 24 hours to turn the criminals over. But once the deadline passed on Thursday, nothing was done.
