Daltonganj, July 4: The Nilamber Pitamber University today faced voiced protest over its use of the question papers meant for the backlog examinations.
Examinees were angry when they saw question papers bearing the year 2019 printed on them. They thought some foul play in it. However, there was no foul play.
The backlog examinations as well as the third semester of the UG courses for the session 2020-23 started at NPU today.
As it was a backlog examination, it preferred to use its already printed but unopened and unused packets of the question papers that the university had got prepared for its 2019-22 session which was derailed by the Covid pandemic and various episodes of the lockdowns.
Registrar of NPU Dr Rakesh Kumar said it was nothing more than the use of the question papers that were meant for previous examinations which could not be held because of the Covid pandemic and various incidents of lockdowns.
The proctor of the university Dr K C Jha said the examinees could not appreciate that the question papers had the 2019 year as mentioned just because a series of the examinations was put off rendering it a backlog due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
There is no impropriety or irregularity in this use of old year save and except that a 2019 question paper was put in place but it was as confidential as ever with no threat or damage to the sanctity of the examinations, according to sources.
A note being circulated in the social media claimed to be of the controller of the examinations of the Nilamber Pitamber University read that the university cycled this question paper meant for its backlog examinations in this session 2020-23 which is in no way any diversion of the sanctity of the examinations.
