Ranchi, Jan 27: As many as 1.4 lakh ration card holders in the state have registered themselves for the Hemant government’s ambitious scheme to give a subsidy on petrol. As of Jan 27, there are 59,18,857 ration cardholders in the state.
CM Hemant Soren started the program by symbolically providing a subsidy amount of Rs 250 to five beneficiaries during the Republic Day celebration at police line Dumka.
Out of the 1.4 lakh people who applied for the petrol subsidy, 73,000 applications have been approved across the state.
As many as 58,000 beneficiaries across the state will receive the subsidy amount of Rs 250 as their details have been verified and the input has been made in the PFMS for the direct benefit transfer.
District Supply office Albert Bilung said that there is no need to upload the bill and the amount will be transferred on a monthly basis to the registered beneficiaries.
“The beneficiaries will have to apply on the CM-SUPPORT app by providing the details of the ration card and the two-wheeler vehicle details, upon which it will be first verified by the DTO and then by the supply department. Upon the verification the details will be fed into the PFMS system for the transfer of amount to the respective two-wheeler holders,” Bilung said.
The officials in the supply department said that it has been estimated that there are 20 lakh two-wheelers in the state
On the completion of 2 years of the government, in a grand program organized in the capital, CM Hemant Soren had announced a subsidy of Rs 25 in petrol. The ration cardholder families of the state, who have bikes, scooty or other two-wheelers, but are unable to fill the tank due to the cost of petrol, will be given a rebate of Rs 25 per litre on the purchase of petrol.
