Ranchi, May 17: The Jharkhand High court will hear a bunch of PILs against Chief Minister Hemant Soren, mining secretary Pooja Singhal, and allegations related to shell companies and other related matters through video conferencing on May 19.
A bench of Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad rejected the plea of Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan to hold a physical court stating that a lot of documents related to concerned PILs will have to be submitted before the court for perusal. He said that Kapil Sibal who is representing the Jharkhand government will also come to Ranchi and he will have absolutely no problem joining the physical court for the hearing.
But the ED said that Solicitor General Tushar Mehta who appeared for the ED may not be able to come to Ranchi to attend the hearing. Counsel of other agencies too may have problems visiting Ranchi to attend the physical hearing.
Senior lawyer Rajiv Kumar who represents petitioners of the PILs said that a virtual hearing will be suitable for hearing. The chief justice said that the court would hear a bunch of PILs as well as related matters. Today the court conducted an online hearing which continued for two and half hours.
